Innovative approach for leaving no one behind
The EU has made significant strides in closing the equality and inclusion gaps and bringing forward the idea of societies as places where everyone can contribute and thrive. Yet, shifting demographic, economic, and geopolitical realities demand innovative thinking to ensure that no one is left behind. Preparedness through prevention of exclusion of vulnerable groups is a precondition for social safety and security in the rapidly changing societies.
In our diverse societies, blanket solutions for closing the inequality gap between social groups are not an option. Addressing social disparities requires:
A deep understanding of the drivers of inequality, ensuring that policies reflect lived realities.
Amplifying the voices of marginalised groups, so solutions are informed by those most affected.
Targeted investment in education and employment opportunities, enabling equal participation in society.
Improving accessibility to decision-making structures, ensuring diverse and inclusive policies.
Inclusive social and labour policies and support programmes for vulnerable groups contribute to building a fulfilling and quality life for individuals and filling the gaps in the labour markets.
At Radar Europe, we work alongside migrants, minorities, youth at risk of exclusion and radicalisation for building social coherence together. We conduct multi-disciplinary analyses to understand the structural challenges in our societies. We link those at risk of marginalisation, practitioners and policymakers. We work with local municipalities, nationals and governmental and the EU to help policymakers and practitioners to work efficiently together. We build bridges and bring evidence to decision-makers.
Study into the intersections of gender equality and national minorities for the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities 2022-2023
Radar Europe carried out a study about minority women for the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. The study assessed minority women’s political participation, socio-economic situation, access to employment and career development, and participation in peace and security in Estonia, Georgia, Kyrgyz Republic and Montenegro. The study highlighted the inequalities that begin to influence girls already in early childhood and multiply throughout the life cycle of a woman. It emphasised the importance of empowerment and tailored support for skills building and access to education. Dr. Riina Pilke, Senior Expert at Radar, presented the study in a high-level meeting in OSCE Headquarters in Vienna on 28 March 2023.
