Bridging Gender Gaps: Radar Europe’s Approach to Equality

Europe is home to some of the most gender equal countries in the world, yet no country has achieved full gender parity. Gender gaps are narrowing in health and education sectors, but they stick hard in economics and politics.  Across the globe women continue to be more at risk to fall into poverty than men and gender pay gaps persist in most countries.

Working on gender equality goes beyond achieving parity between women and men. Discrimination and violence against LGBTIQ+ communities remain often hidden, yet they are critical barriers to equal rights. Grounded in Sustainable Development Goal 5, our work is based on human rights and equal rights for all. They include the right to identity, housing, health and reproductive health, security and a life free from violence, right to work, food and clean water, and the right to education regardless of one’s ethnicity, place of living, gender or disability status. Together with our clients, we help to unveil phenomena that hinder progress towards gender parity and equal rights.

Radar Europe’s approach takes on key factors from work-to-life-balance to health and well-being, access to quality education, environmental impact, urban-periphery divide and service structures, demography, and our values and norms. Achieving meaningful gender equality requires breaking systemic barriers across policy areas while addressing sector-specific challenges.  Closing social, economic and political gender gaps through our holistic, cross-sector approach doesn’t just promote a fairer society— it is also a tool to unlock economic and social potential and increase Europe’s competitiveness.

This means creating:

  • More adaptable labour markets that promote equal opportunities for all

  • Fair working conditions that close wage gaps and improve career mobility

  • Inclusive social services that support diverse needs including childcare and care for the elderly

  • Gender-neutral tax systems that eliminate biases and promote financial independence

Radar Europe is specialised in socio-economic analyses and data collection. We frequently help our clients to promote gender equality strategically and to find solutions for sustainable and cost-effective service structures that meet the needs of all citizens.

Radar Europe led a study on reproductive health and rights for the European Parliament

Radar Europe produced a European-wide study on the gendered aspects of sexual and reproductive health. The study was commissioned by the European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens’ Rights and Constitutional Affairs at the request of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM). It assesses public health policies and the socio-economic impacts of reproductive health, providing a full overview of the available screening programmes, preventive care and treatments options for reproductive cancers and infertility across the EU.
